Two Case of Opsoclonus

Abstract
Opsoclonus is defined as rapid, involuntary, chaotic, repetitive, conjugate saccadic eye movements in all directions and persisting during sleep and it is often accompanied by myoclonic jerks of face and body. We present two cases of opsoclonus
with
review of literature. The first case is 69-year-old female presented with 30 days history of anorexia, general weakness and 7 days history of nausea, vomiting, dizziness, ataxia and ocular flutter. Ocular flutter is changed to opsoclonus 7 days
later
from admission. Chest X-ray and chest CT scan revealed mass lesion in left inferior lobe, superior segment. Clinical manifestations improved with clonazepam therapy. The second case is 26-year-old pregnant female presented with 10 days history of
febrile, chilling sensation and 3 days history of dizziness, opsoclonus and tremulous movement of whole body. The brain CT scan was normal and cerebrospinal fluid study revealed CNS viral infection. Clinical manifestations improved with
chlorpromazine
and valproic therapy.
